A nylon lock nut is an internally threaded fastener incorporating a nylon insert at the top of the nut. The insert elastically deforms over the mating threads, creating prevailing torque that resists loosening under vibration and dynamic loads. Locking action is achieved without damaging threads, allowing limited reusability.
